I thought shaq was mellow but I recently saw sports news and he called out a big *** korean dude! WTF! the Korean dude prolly never thought shaq would even sign him autograph let alone fight him... I think shaq feels threatoned that there's another Giant in the world of Sports... I luv Shaq but honestly... He's a basketball player.

Shaq has said that he has an interest in MMA. I think he figures a fight against Hong Man Choi would likely not put him at too much risk as Choi wouldn't want to take it to the ground as he's a kickboxer by trade. I think it's kind of ridiculous, but seeing as how Jose Canseco fought this guy, Shaq has a much better chance.

Shaq isn't threatened by another giant in another sport, especially since Choi isn't even a big named fighter, he just sees an opportunity to get a lot of attention in general.

HEY, Conseco held up pretty good against Choi, well at least thats what i tought, but yea did u see how Conseco Clocked Choi with the first punch? Honestly i tought Conseco had descent chance till he fell and Choi got on top of him, i think shaq saw that Conseco held his own and now he wants a shot at trying to beat choi. i think if they ever meet and the fight is standing that shaq might have a good chance at trying to beat i mean anything can happen when a fight is standing. plus he's trying to show that maybe there is a chance for another athlete to transition from his sport to MMA.

Shaq has studied Martial Arts for years. Where do you think the whole Shaq-Fu thing from the 90's came from... his hobby of studying martial arts. He does some MMA training only to stay fit but he has never competed.
It is an attention ploy, we might actually see him fight once or twice after his basketball career is over but he won't go anywhere with it.
He is calling out Choi because Canseco got spanked by him and if he did fight and win it would be really good press for him.
Brock Lesnar beat Choi in something like 34 seconds and that got him signed to the UFC.
