You need to supplement your income??? And you're looking for BETTING SYSTEMS?!?

If you've got money to blow on betting systems, then you're doing better than you think. Either that or you're naive enough to think you'll make money on betting sports. (I wanted to say "stupid enough", but I didn't want to sound TOO insulting!)

With that being said, here's your answer:

If anyone ever tells you they can make you "sure" money with a sports pick, they are fooling you.

The BEST handicappers out there MIGHT actually be able to make money betting on sports IN THE LONG RUN, but there is no such thing as a "sure thing". ANY single game that a bookmaker or any other sort of expert handicaps is at best a 75% winner. (I'm speaking about any game that might otherwise be considered 50-50 with a spread of some sort.) ***BY THE WAY - someone that could be that much of a favorite would really have to have some secret, inside information. A game like this would be a rare once-per-season or less occurance.*** Now if you knew you could win a bet 75% of the time for even money, you'd be a fool not to put SOME money down on the game. The trouble is, you can't put ALL your money or even a significant percentage of your money down, because there is ALWAYS a chance of losing.

The fact is, the best handicappers out there would be more likely to get 60% if they're lucky. If they can do that season after season, they could just continue to make reasonable sized bets and make a profit at the end of a season.

Anyone that uses the word "lock" or "sure thing" should not be trusted.

I had a whole long screed typed up about what I think about this, but it seemed to aimless and contrived so I'll just narrow it down to a few bullet points:

1. Many "systems" are misleading or are simply scams. Don't waste your money on a pay per pick service, no matter how good the deal may be!

2. Anything over 55% is good. But if I'm paying for picks, I'd like to see better results! A lot of "pro" handicappers don't even have a 50% winning record.

3. Even if you win with "systems" you still have to know how to manage your bankroll. You can still even be at 55% on your own, but at the same time find yourself stagnant or even losing money by betting too much on your losses.

4. The bottom line is, protect your money! I like sportsbetting, but was in a similar boat as you..but I started out losing a lot of cash before I figured out that I was bleeding it all out in the wrong ways. Just be smart, I'm not saying don't bet, because it's a fun hobby that can come with some cash if you are wise about it!

Hope this helps!

Anything on the web that wants you to send them money and is promising you money in return IS A SCAM (PERIOD) NO EXCEPTIONS. DO NOT FORGET THAT! I know of one very high yielding investment, growing hydro marijuana. It is just like growing money. As far as sports betting, I love it and made about 1000 on the NBA playoffs this year. Don't really know a system though, mine is to look through all the days games and pick the one I like best and bet 100 on it, one game a day. GOOD LUCK!!

Simple . . .don't bet to begin with and you'll be guaranteed to have more money! Seriously though, you can't possibly think there is a real system out there that promises you won't lose money, do you? That's why it's called gambling. I gamble too, but I realize in the long run I'm not going to make a profit.

It is possible to profit at sports betting, although in general you will not get rich quick, lol. Sports arbitrage is one, but the return is very low, requires a large bankroll, and I have seen results that can dent a bankroll pretty badly.

There are systems that do work and will return a small profit year after year, one of them is using a computerized selection process combined with a data mining system for American Football. I have done this for years and it does work, my overall win margin is about 72% for over 10 years, fully documented online.

The system is free, there are no charges at all, and the picks are posted every week on my site and at several of my blogs during the regular season for both NFL and NCAAF for ATS and SU betting.

Here is a link to the results page for last year: http://www.football-free-picks.com/2008-football/2008-results.htm

I post the picks each week at CBS Sportsline where I am rated as SuperStar, Link: http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/authors/author/161021

For more information go to http://www.football-free-picks.com

Hope this helps, good luck!

Most sports betting systems are just trends that can have some success short term but they usually dont last long term, especially once the masses know about it

Recently online alot has been made of Chase systems, meaning you bet the same team for up to 3 or 4 games in a row. Alot of them do pretty ok , but the bad part about chase systems is theory any team should win or cover 1 in 3 but if they dont and your doubling up particularly in sports with moneylines like baseball and hockey - one losing streak can wipe out as many as 10 to 20 small wins. You need a HUGE bankroll for chase systems and if it goes to a 3rd or 4th game you are at a HUGE disadvantage verses risk and reward.

Sports Betting is beatable over the long haul but the percentage isnt Huge, and if people know things they arent in a rush to share because the edge disappears fast once the masses learn of an edge that is winning, as books make the necessary adjustments.

Most people that bet sports Lose! despite all the "systems" "Locks" and "Pro's" out their making claims of knowing everything and it being so easy, the sad fact is its really hard.

someone wrote an article a few years ago saying if you start with 1,000 dollars and make one bet per day for 5 years risking 10% of your bankroll (which is normally way too high) BUT if you can hit 60% during the 5 years your 1,000 dollars will grow to the BILLIONS assuming you can get bets down that big but at the very least you will be a multi-millionaire.

Never heard of someone winning a billion at sportsbetting, but people do make money. The break even point is 52.5% if you are making all bets at standard -110 If you think in terms of casino games that have low house edges and just grind their way to huge profits over time if you can hit 56% long term that means you have a 3.5% edge on the house and you can grind your way to BIG profits long term

Most sports bettors cant hit this - if your hitting 60% you have a 7.5% edge on the house, you have a better edge than the casino has at any casino game, higher than roulette and the edge the player has its like having a license to print money..........Almost no one can do this long term, yes over any one season you can be HOT and lucky and maybe if your selective you can hit a high percentage but everyone regresses toward the norm and the norm suggests that most people don't stay too far above 55% if they can hit that high!

Sports Betting is alot like Blackjack in that in theory if your really good you can make money, you can have an edge over the casino but the edge is VERY small from game to game and hand to hand, and you have to blend bankroll and discipline and money management in order to stay one step ahead and despite what salesmen and crooks tell you its EXTREMELY difficult to do on a long term basis

Good Luck!
