I know mgm has a sportsbook, but is that just for horse racing? Or can you bet on football and basketball there?

I don't think you can bet on sports at any of the Detroit casinos because of the sports teams in the city. Pro sports leagues are really against betting be so close to the stadiums and in the home of the teams. You can, however bet on sports at Caesars Windsor just across the river in Canada because it is a different country. This is the main reason that Las Vegas continues to struggle getting a pro team, despite its population explosion.
